After the performance of the 12 winning scores of DYCE composition competition (28th April 2019), DYCE has commissioned four new pieces to the four composers who were chosen by the audiences and the ensembles.
The four selected DYCE composers João Ceitil, Andreas Tsiartas, Juhani Vesikkala and Yiqing Zhu (in alphabeltical order) have now completed their new scores, and DYCE partners are eager to perform them in four concerts in Spring 2020.
From 21st April to 13th May, the new pieces and the four composers will travel through Europe and realize a unitary and unique performative project.
All four commissioned pieces will be programmed in Tallinn, Oslo, Seville and Milan.
The composers will attend the rehearsals and the performances in each town, working closely with the four ensembles.
This will be an important musical journey for them: a unique opportunity to grow artistically and career-wise, build professional and human relationships which we hope will have long term effects in their lives.

João Ceitil - SarabaNde for violin, cello, bass flute, bass clarinet, piano and percussion
Andreas Tsiartas - Ìérkos for ensemble
Juhani T Vesikkala Wittmacher - into these worldless houses for ensemble
Yiqing Zhu - Partita for sextet
